Library Expansion

Hampton Park Library

The Hampton Park Library, one of the three branches of the Forsyth County Public Library, is a 23,500 square feet facility located at 5345 Settingdown Road, one quarter mile north of the Hampton Park/Settingdown Road intersection. The facility will eventually house 96,000 volumes and it has seating capacity for 135 users. It serves all ages of the county population and contains a 100-seat capacity meeting room. Thirty-eight public access computer workstations are also available.

The Hampton Park Library was designed to address the library needs of the rapidly growing population of north Forsyth County. Its secondary purpose is to increase the overall volume of library materials so that all citizens of Forsyth County can access these materials via the library's automation system.

The Hampton Park Library opened on March 15, 2010.

Post Road Library

The Post Road Library will become the fourth branch of the Forsyth County Public Library (FCPL). The site for the new library is located on the west side of Post Road, about a quarter of a mile south of the Drew Campground / Kelly Mill Road intersection. The Post Road Library, a full-service facility, will have approximately 23,500 square feet. The facility will eventually house 96,000 volumes and have a 100-seat capacity meeting room. Thirty-eight public access computer workstations will also be available. The Post Road Library will be designed to serve all ages of the county population through programs, materials, and online resources. The FCPL Library Board has selected the architectural firm of Craig, Gaulden & Davis to design the Post Road Library. Construction dates are contingent on the collection of SPLOST revenues.
