The Forsyth County Public Library
welcomes the donation of money to purchase new items for the
collection or the donation of items such as books, DVDs,
music CDs, and multimedia CD-ROM products in good condition.
All materials presented to the Library as gifts are subject
to the same selection criteria as purchased items, as
outlined in the Materials Management Policy. The Library
retains unconditional ownership and makes the final decision
on acceptance, use, and disposition.
Any item that is not added may be donated to another
institution, sold at the Forsyth County Public Library
Friends & Advocates book sale, or otherwise disposed of. All
monies collected at book sales benefit the Library.
Due to the high volume of donations received, the library is
unable to notify donors as to the specific disposition of
their materials, or to return materials that are not
selected for inclusion into the collection.
Due to space limitations only three boxes of materials per
visit may be brought to the Library. However, larger
donations are very much welcomed and appreciated. The FCPL
Friends & Advocates are happy to pick up donations from your
home.
To schedule a pick-up, please visit their
website. Please note that neither the Library nor the
Friends & Advocates can accept books in poor physical
condition (damaged, soiled, mildewed).
