Special Partners

The library is fortunate to have developed relationships with several partners who contribute in various ways to help enhance our ability to provide quality services to our community.
Partners include diverse groups such as computer, book, and service vendors, the North Georgia Community Foundation, non-profit groups, community organizations, local businesses, and individuals who donate time, money, or materials to enrich our collections and services.
FCPL would like to especially recognize and thank the following special partners who have recently supported the library or been involved in recent library activities:

  • Certified Literate Community Program
The Certified Literate Community Program (CLCP) is a unique community and education partnership seeking to eradicate illiteracy in Georgia. By mobilizing all Forsyth County's major resources, i.e. local government, businesses, the schools, the courts, churches, and the community, Forsyth County plans to achieve the status of a Certified Literate Community.

  • Cumming Garden Club
Cumming Garden Club members donate their time and resources to set up monthly flower displays in the lobby of the Cumming Library branch.

  • EnvisionWare, Inc.
EnvisionWare is the company that produces the software that manages reservation and use of FCPL public-use computers and controls the cost of printing in the Library. The software at the Sharon Forks Library was initially provided through a grant from EnvisionWare. At that time, introduction of the EnvisionWare software to control the cost of printing allowed the Library to introduce the option of color printing as a service to the public. Since then, FCPL IT staff have been testing pre-release versions of EnvisionWare software on the FCPL test network and providing suggestions for current product enhancement and new product development. EnvisionWare’s responsiveness to FCPL staff input has facilitated introduction of new services, such as the ability to offer printing services to patrons using their own laptops to access Library and Internet resources via FCPL Unplugged!

  • The Forsyth County Friends of the Library (FOL)
The Forsyth County Friends of the Library (FOL) exists to support the programs and resources of our local public library.

  • The Forsyth County Master Gardeners
The Forsyth County Master Gardeners donate volunteer time to maintain the Outback Garden at the Cumming Branch and the Bookworm Garden at the Sharon Forks Library branch.

  • The Forsyth County Senior Center
The Forsyth County Senior Center's mission is to be the focal point where older adults gather for services and activities that respond to their diverse needs and interests, enhance their dignity, support their independence, and encourage their involvement in their community.

  • The North Georgia Community Foundation
The North Georgia Community Foundation administers the Forsyth County Public Library Fund. The Forsyth County Public Library Board of Directors established this fund in April, 2003, to provide a cost-effective and tax efficient way to enable organizations, individuals, and families to make charitable contributions and memorial gifts for the library’s benefit. Building a long-term endowment for future projects will impact the quality of library services for generations to come. The Forsyth County Friends of the Library has the distinction of giving the very first contribution to the fund.

  • New License plates to benefit public libraries in the State of Georgia!
A portion of the charges for these special tags will be donated to the Georgia Center for the Book and in turn used to purchase books for the state's public libraries.
Each tag is subject to annual charges of $50 for the first year and $25 thereafter, in addition to standard registration fees.
Application forms can be downloaded here, but application must be made in person at your local county tag office. In order for the special plates to be manufactured, 1,000 applications must be received statewide before Dec. 31, 2008. If insufficient applications are received, all application fees will be refunded.
