Kids - Preschool / Elementary

Preschool
Reading aloud to children is a key to their success in reading—and it’s never too early to start! FCPL offers materials and story programs to inspire kids to love books long before they start learning to read independently. Children who come to story programs explore language through books, movement and music.

Elementary
Children at the elementary level will find books, databases and other materials to supplement and enhance their studies and to foster the love of lifelong learning. Family programs allow school-aged children to enjoy literature-based puppet shows, storytelling, and skits that promote the pleasure of reading. Elementary students are especially welcome to participate in Summer Reading Fun, which offers incentives for meeting summer reading goals.
