Join us for an unforgettable evening with professional storyteller, Donna "Kokumo" Buie (Mama Koku)!
Ms. Buie graduated with honors from North Carolina Central University majoring in Theater with concentrations in Performance and Education. As a writer, storyteller and teaching artist of over 16 years, she has written and performed original programs focusing on Science, Social Studies and Language Arts. Career highlights include over 10 years with Fulton County Schools Teaching Museum, and featured artist for The Atlanta Symphony, The Atlanta History Center, The High Museum of Art, Atlanta Botanical Gardens, and a local daily television program; World Stories with Mama Koku. Koku is also author of the children's book, Zuri the Fairy Loves Her Hair. This evening Koku Performs "Folktales from Around the World including The Legend of Borreguita; Anansi the Spider; and Tikki-Tikki Tembo!!
The event takes place in the parking lot of the Sharon Forks Library for you to enjoy from the comfort of your car.
Storytelling will begin at 7:00 p.m. Join us early at 6:30 p.m. for some fun Book character Bingo and trivia.
