All adults, regardless of sewing experience, are welcome to join us to learn how to make a quilt! Over the course of this six-week program, we will be cutting, measuring, and using a sewing machine to create your own lap-sized quilt in a traditional design. The program will be taught by the president of the Piecemakers Quilt Guild, Ellen Masters.
For a list of fabric needed, please contact the Hampton Park branch after registering. Sewing machines will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own machine.
About Ellen:
Ellen is a teacher, quilter, and seamstress and spent over 40 years teaching elementary students and children with severe disabilities. She began sewing at age six on her mother's Singer machine. Growing up, she made all her clothes. In 1987, she discovered quilting. She is passionate about both quilting and teaching and has been teaching children's quilting and sewing classes for over ten years. She teaches classes in local quilt shops, her quilt guild, and now in Forsyth County Public Library.
This program is for adults. Registration IS required.
