The Georgia Mountains Regional Commission offers help with job searches, interview techniques, resumes and more. No registration required. The mobile unit will be parked in front of the Cumming Library from 10:00 am until 2:00 p.m.

Toddler Tales Storytime

These 30 minute programs introduce age-appropriate books and stories. We also incorporate action rhymes, songs, and movement to help support your toddler’s developing literacy in fun and exciting ways. This program is suggested for toddlers, ages 18-36 months, with a caregiver. Advance registration is not required for this program.

Books & Babies for Walkers

Develop baby's pre-literacy skills as well as physical, social, and mental development. This storytime introduces a love for books, song, movement, rhythm and rhyme. Improve motor, sensory and social skills during free play time, which also provides an opportunity for both babies and parents to socialize. Books & Babies is also about parents as you bond and learn with baby as well as meet other parents in the community.

This program is for babies up to 24 months old, with a parent or caregiver, and lasts 25-30 minutes.

These programs are designed to promote language, listening, and pre-reading skills by offering vocabulary development, experiences with a variety of literature, and participation in language-related activities. Hear stories, sing songs, and develop the skills needed to become a successful reader. This program is suggested for children, ages 3-5, with a caregiver. We'll have a simple craft after storytime. No registration required.

Paws to Read

For grades kindergarten and up. Dogs are great listeners! Paws to Read gives patrons of all ages an opportunity to read and relax with a certified therapy dog while improving literacy skills. Participants sign up at the door for 15-minute sessions.

Great Decisions 2019: Decoding U.S.-China Trade

Decoding U.S.-China Trade will be presented by Laurel Wei, Ph.D. Prepare to discuss the world. Great Decisions is America's largest discussion program on world affairs. Forsyth County Public Library and the University of North Georgia will present information and lead discussions on a range of fascinating geopolitical topics. Copies of the Great Decisions Briefing Book and DVD are available for checkout at the library.
