Fiber Arts and Friends

Fiber arts includes knitting, crocheting, sewing, needlepoint, and any other activity that uses fiber or fabric. Bring your current project or simply grab your needles, yarn, hook, spinning wheel, and patterns to join in the fiber arts fun. This program is for adults.

Paws to Read

For grades kindergarten and up. Paws to Read gives patrons of all ages an opportunity to read and relax with a certified therapy dog while improving literacy skills. Participants sign up at the door for 15-minute sessions. Advance registration is not required.

Leap into Literacy with The Gingerbread Man

Families with young children are invited to enjoy a simple dinner, stories and songs in English and Spanish, crafts, and early literacy activities.

Children can also take home a free book!

This program will be held in the Cafeteria at Cumming Elementary School, 540 Dahlonega Street.

Leap into Literacy programs are designed for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, but children of all ages are welcome to attend with a caregiver.

Admission is free.

Leap into Literacy is sponsored by Forsyth County Public Library, Forsyth County Schools, Georgia Highlands Medical Services, Literacy Forsyth, and Scholastic. Leap into Literacy is also supported by a Community Impact Grant from the North Georgia Community Foundation.

Mark Warren: Born to the Badge

Local Western historian Mark Warren will be discussing his book “Born to the Badge”, the second in his trilogy on Wyatt Earp: An American Odyssey. There will be a book signing after the discussion, and books will be available for sale.
