The Colored Methodist Church of Cumming once stood in the woods along Tolbert Street in Forsyth County and for the last 110 years, the graveyard had been forgotten until 2022 when Leadership Forsyth restored it for public view. Join FCPL staff on a guided walking tour of the cemetery to discover the history of Black Forsyth including the history of the cemetery and the lives behind the only legible headstones.

Please bring water and wear suitable footwear and clothing. Participants are asked to meet outside the front gates of the cemetery. If the weather is unfavorable, the program will meet in the Meeting Room of the Denmark Library.
