If you are a fan of all things spooky, then look no further than your local library. Join Denise Mount of the Georgia Storytelling Network for an evening of scary stories in celebration of oral history.
About Denise: Denise Mount grew up in Western New York and presently resides in Dahlonega, Georgia. She tells personal stories which span five generations and much local color. Denise also spins occasional Appalachian yarns, tall tales, and scary happenings. She has been a featured regional teller at the Georgia Mountain Storytelling Festival, the Peach State Storytelling Festival, and the 2023 Georgia Storytelling Festival. She has told regularly at the John C. Campbell Folk School, the Acworth Literacy Festival, the Peacock Playhouse, liars festivals, and more. Denise and her husband, Mike, are the founders of Stories on the Square Gwinnett, a monthly open mic, now on zoom, promoting story tellers, story listeners, and story lovers. Denise hopes her stories help to build bridges to a better world.
This program is intended for adults and high school teens only.
