Explore the artistry, history, and cultural traditions of Native American basket weaving with the Georgia Basketry Association. This presentation will highlight the significance of basketry within different Native American communities, including the materials, patterns, and techniques that have been passed down through generations. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how baskets were used in daily life, ceremonies, and storytelling, as well as the symbolism woven into their designs.
About the Presenter: The purpose of the Georgia Basketry Association is to perpetuate the art of basketry, stimulate interest and knowledge in all phases of basketry, and preserve the importance of basketry as a heritage craft.
