This presentation will highlight the significance of basketry within different Native American communities, including the materials, patterns, and techniques that have been passed down through generations. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how baskets were used in daily life, ceremonies, and storytelling, as well as the symbolism woven into their designs.
About the Presenter: The purpose of the Georgia Basketry Association is to perpetuate the art of basketry, stimulate interest and knowledge in all phases of basketry, and preserve the importance of basketry as a heritage craft.
