Join us as we celebrate our community’s statewide achievement with a special storytime featuring children's author and Super Bowl Champion, Malcolm Mitchell, reading his latest book, Hey, Georgia.
This event will require event passes. Event passes are free and available to participants on the day of the program. They will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis starting 30 minutes before the event start time.
About the Presenter: Malcolm Mitchell is a native of Valdosta, Georgia. As a high school senior, he was an Under Armour All American and went on to finish in the top 10 all-time receivers during his playing career at the University of Georgia (UGA). After graduating from UGA with a degree in Communication Studies in 2015, Malcolm was drafted by the New England Patriots, becoming a Super Bowl Champion in 2017. Malcolm speaks on topics including the power of literacy, overcoming adversity, and teamwork.
About Georgia Reads for America250: Georgia libraries are celebrating America’s 250th anniversary with a statewide initiative throughout 2026 to promote the joy of reading, civic literacy, and historical inquiry. The initiative is co-sponsored by the Georgia Public Library Service, the Georgia Council on Literacy, and the Georgia Municipal Association.
