This month's topic is Electoral Trends in Europe, presented by Dr. Nathan Price.
Dr. Price will discuss the re-alignment in the 21st century and how changing voting patterns drive the collapse of support for traditional parties such as the Republicans and Socialists in France and the Social Democratic Party and the Christian Democratic Party in Germany. As mainstream parties decline, populist parties such as the AFD, Nationally Rally, France Unbowed, and the Left see record levels of support in recent snap elections. We will analyze these trends and discuss how mainstream parties, such as the Tories and Labour in the U.K., are adjusting their platforms to adapt to changing voting patterns
