Hear ye, hear ye! Have you ever wanted to lead a band of heroes through perilous dungeons, or craft an epic story of your own? The library is calling all aspiring storytellers, world-builders, and tactical thinkers! Whether you’ve never touched a 20-sided die, or you’re a veteran gamer ready to step behind the screen, this four-part series will give you a solid foundation to run your own Dungeons & Dragons game with confidence.
Session 0: DMing 101 "Stay a while, and listen..." This introductory session covers fundamentals, and is both a primer for those new to tabletop roleplaying games, and a careful look at the core concepts needed to fill the role of Dungeon Master. We'll look at the DNA of gameplay, tools of the trade, the Three Pillars of adventure games, and how campaigns come together (or don't). This session is intended to give you what you need to get behind the screen - even if you don't attend the others.
