Learn about the fundamental principles of ballistics, patterns of tissue damage, and the medical and forensic considerations involved in evaluating gunshot wounds. Dr. Jon Hager will present an overview of firearms and the mechanisms of gunshot injuries.
Dr. Hager is an assistant professor at the University of North Georgia (UNG) in the Department of Criminal Justice specializing in forensic science. Prior to joining UNG, Dr. Hager was a medical examiner and investigator for the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office in Alpharetta, GA. Dr. Hager was previously an autopsy technician at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and worked in private fire investigations. Dr. Hager has published a forensic textbook used in higher education.
