Thank you for using the Interlibrary Loan service. You may request up to five Interlibrary Loan items and have up to five Interlibrary Loan items checked out at one time. You may also request a copy of a specific journal, magazine, or newspaper article within copyright restrictions. We cannot borrow books that we already own, newly published books, music CDs, DVDs/Blu-rays, audiobooks, eBooks, eAudiobooks, Internet resources, kits, or passes.
Most times, this service is free of charge. However, if a lending library requires a fee to borrow the item, you will be asked if you wish to pay the fee or if you would rather cancel the request. If you agree to pay the charge, you will be responsible for paying the fee regardless if you use the item. Patrons are asked to pay the cost of borrowing census microfilm for states other than Georgia.
The due date is determined by the lending institution, not by Forsyth County Public Library, and many lending libraries allow only a short time for the use of Interlibrary Loan items. Some institutions may only allow use of their items within the Library.
Please return your Interlibrary Loan items to the Ask Us desk inside the Library. Please do not return Interlibrary Loan items using the book returns or outdoor book drops.
Normal late charges of $0.20 per day per item will apply to overdue materials. If your Interlibrary Loan item is 21 days overdue, we will contact the lending library to obtain the replacement cost and any additional fees they wish to assess.
Please note that many of the items requested for Interlibrary Loan are difficult to replace. You are responsible for charges incurred for lost or damaged materials. Charges are assessed by the lending library and may include not only the replacement cost of the item, but also additional fees. Forsyth County Public Library cannot waive fees from other lending libraries.
