The name of our library system is Forsyth County Public Library (4 words, all capitalized). The formal abbreviation for the Library is FCPL.
Forsyth County Public Library (FCPL) in Cumming, Georgia serves the residents of Forsyth County with five libraries, an administrative building, and a mobile library. Although varying degrees of library services have existed in Forsyth County since the 1920s, FCPL as a single-county, independent library was founded in 1996. Please see our History pageOpens the FCPL History page in current browser tab to learn more about the Library’s history.
FCPL leads the state in checkouts per capita and the Sharon Forks Library lends more physical materials than any other library in Georgia. Library Director Adrianne Junius attributes such high circulation to FCPL’s “outstanding Materials Department and Information Staff for selecting, displaying, and promoting our materials so successfully.” Director Junius also credits Forsyth County's strong commitment to education, which fosters a community of readers. More information about the Library’s usage can be found in our latest Annual ReportOpens the FCPL Annual Report page in current browser tab.
Forsyth County Public Library’s mission is to connect our community with exceptional resources, spaces, and experiences. Our vision is to be your first choice for discovery, inspiration, and enrichment. Please see our Strategic PlanOpens the FCPL Strategic Plan page in current browser tab for more information.
