Suggestion for Purchase

Directions

Considerations: Please complete the form below to suggest that an item be purchased for the library collection, keeping the following considerations in mind.

  • Suggestions for purchase will only be accepted from Forsyth County Public Library cardholders.
  • Cardholders may submit up to 3 suggestions for purchase each month.
  • Please do not submit suggestions for books with a publication date in the future, as the library automatically receives many of these books upon publication.
  • It is unlikely that nonfiction books without recent publication dates will be considered for purchase, as it is important that the library collection have information that is up-to-date. However, you may use the Interlibrary Loan process to request that books be borrowed from other library systems.
  • If you are a local author and would like to have your book represented in the library collection, please utilize the Community Authors process. A staff member at any library location can provide more information about Community Authors.
  • While all suggestions will be carefully considered, the library will not be able to purchase all suggestions made. Patrons will be notified if the library will or will not be purchasing an item suggested.
  • If the library purchases an item you suggest, you may opt to have the library place it on hold for you. However, we cannot guarantee that you will be the first patron in the hold queue.
  • The library may place holds for patrons on books and other physical items. Because library staff are unable to access patrons’ individual accounts with eResource providers, patrons must place their holds for eBooks and eAudiobooks.
  • For more information about our collections and how selections are made, please see the Collection Development Policy.
