This month's topic is The Great Game: Strategic and Geopolitical Competition presented by Dr. Craig Greathouse.
Dr. Craig Greathouse is a Professor of Political Science at the University of North Georgia and teaches courses on the European Union, European security, national security policy, international security, and international relations theory. He earned a Ph.D. in political science with specialties in international relations and comparative politics from Claremont Graduate School in addition to an M.A. and B.A. in Political Science from the University of Akron. Dr. Greathouse has published articles addressing European foreign policy, European Security and Defense issues, American foreign policy, American strategic culture, and cyber war. He is part of the control staff of the National Security Decision Making Game which provides simulations, wargaming, and lectures to public, educational groups, and elements of the U.S. government. Dr. Greathouse currently serves as Department Head for Political Science and International Affairs and graduate advisor to the M.A. in International Affair at UNG.
About Becoming a Global Citizen: Discussion on International Issues
Becoming a Global Citizen is a program series dedicated to educating the public and encouraging discussions about current international affairs. These programs will be on the first Sunday of every month, at 2:00 p.m. in the Meeting Room at the Denmark Library. Each program will consist of 45 minutes of presentation by a University of North Georgia professor following 45 minutes of a roundtable discussion on the topic of the month.
This program is intended for adults and high school students.
