We've all seen images of space before–whether it be from the Hubble or James Webb Space Telescope, a professional observatory, or an amateur astronomer. But, have you ever thought about how we got those pictures? Where do the colors come from? How did we take them? What does that process look like?
Representatives from the University of North Georgia's Observatory will attempt to answer those questions by presenting (in a nutshell) how scientists plan, capture, and process images of space via a presentation and demonstrations with their equipment! Afterwards, weather permitting, we will take a look at an object visually through one of UNG's 8" Dobsonian telescopes in Denmark's Amphitheater.
