Summer is the time for special festivals, or matsuri, all across Japan. Come learn all about the history and importance of these festivals and watch a summer kimono try-on. Afterward enjoy painting a special uchiwa fan - a festival staple! Traditional light refreshments will be served.

This program is for teens, age 16 and up, and adults only. Registration is required. For a whole family-friendly event, check out "Let's Have a Matsuri!" on Saturday, August 27 at 11:00 a.m.

Presented in collaboration with the Japan-America Society of Georgia, a non-profit organization with the mission to promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Japan and the State of Georgia.
