Flannery O’Connor was a nationally lauded Georgia author widely known for her Southern Gothic style short stories set in the American South. Her work highlighted marginalized individuals, outsiders, and social misfits and explored the complexities and diversity of human nature. Published in 1955, A Good Man is Hard to Find and Other Stories established O’Connor’s reputation as one of the American Masters of the short story.
