This month's topic is Peace and Conflict in the Middle East, presented by Dr. Jonathan Miner.
This talk will provide an update and framework for understanding current developments in the Middle East region. The focus will be the ongoing conflict/cease-fire in Gaza, state-building in Syria after the fall of the Assad regime, and other current issues that may arise in 2025. The discussion will broaden to assess the impacts of these issues on geopolitics and the involvement of international actors such as the United States, China, the European Union, Russia, and the United Nations.
